The film was released in November 2011. Butler along with Estella Warren started filming the thriller based on psychological research The Stranger Within in Mallorca in Spain. The film was also made in Copenhagen Denmark as well as New York City. In June 2012, she teamed up with Michael Biehn in the Los Angeles filming of Treachery. Butler was co-starring with Michael Welch in 2013's horror film The Demented.
